KL14 LBS 99: More Than a Reunion

A Celebration of Friendship and Social Impact

When 150 batchmates from LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod, reunite after 25 years, it’s not just an event; it’s a powerful statement of lasting friendship, shared memories, and a deep commitment to making a difference. Our much-anticipated get-together, KL14 LBS 99, is more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane—it’s a platform to spread social awareness and champion meaningful causes.

A Rare Story of Togetherness

Reuniting after 25 years is no small feat, especially with such an incredible turnout. This milestone reflects a bond so strong and enduring that it’s rare even in a close-knit state like Kerala. It sends a message to society about the power of relationships built on trust, support, and shared experiences. Our journey from engineering classrooms to diverse life paths proves that some connections transcend time and distance.

Supporting Sitare: Shining Light on Autism Awareness

Our beloved batchmate, Deena (ECE), along with her son, Adi, has been tirelessly working to build awareness about autism through their initiative, Sitare. Founded by Deena, a mother in Canada, this initiative aims to support her adult son with disabilities, began as a self-employment initiative and is now evolving into an awareness campaign for individuals with autism across North America and India.
To show our solidarity, KL14 LBS 99 has collaborated with Sitare in a heartwarming way. Each participant will receive a surprise gift—a token crafted by Adi himself. For Adi, this is more than just a creative endeavour; it’s an opportunity to showcase his remarkable abilities and spread awareness about the potential of specially-abled individuals. It’s a small but meaningful step in fostering inclusion and breaking down stereotypes.

Empowering Rural Women in Karnataka: Hosa Belaku Artisans Foundation

In addition to supporting Sitare, our event is also making a difference in the lives of specially-abled rural women in Karnataka through an NGO (Hosa Belaku Artisans Foundation). The goodie bags, which will be gifted to all participants, are being handcrafted by these women. This initiative not only provides them with a livelihood but also uplifts their community, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

A Celebration with Purpose

KL14 LBS 99 is a celebration that goes beyond laughter, stories, and shared memories. It’s a beacon of hope and a reminder that reunions can be a force for good, aligning joy with purpose. By supporting Sitare and the rural women of Hosa Belaku Artisans Foundation, we’re proving that even personal milestones can be an opportunity to contribute to societal change.
As we gather to relive our golden days, we’re also stepping into the future with a message: friendships that last a lifetime can be the foundation for creating a better world. Together, we’re showing that small acts of kindness, multiplied by 150, can leave an indelible mark on the world around us.

Let’s make KL14 LBS 99 a story worth telling—not just for what it means to us but for the impact it leaves on the world.
